Every voyage has a beginning and an end. But even before the journey starts, there is the decision to go, to make a departure. Someone once wrote, “Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.”
Eurasia has seen major shifts in the last half century. From the fall of the Berlin wall to the Chernobyl disaster, many societies faced reinvention in the aftermath of turmoil. But from Kazakhstan to Moldova, many individuals are also waging their own wars for a new start.
